About Me

Hello, I'm Jacob Merideth, a lifelong Pickaway County resident and 2016 Teays Valley High School alumnus. With a passion for sports and a unique perspective, I've contributed to Sporting Pumpkin, a local online sports media outlet, for the past two years, focusing on high school sports in Pickaway County. As a former volunteer student manager for the 2014 TVHS State Champion Softball team and the Vikings Varsity Girls Basketball team (2012-2016), I bring a distinct viewpoint to my writing. Although my background isn't in journalism, my love for sports and extensive knowledge as an avid fan fuel my writing. Inspired by the late Brad Morris, a mentor and advocate for local youth, I strive to continue his legacy, promoting young athletes in our area and showcasing their talents, passion, and skills. Building on my experience covering basketball and football, I began serving as the Teays Valley athletics beat writer in February 2024, covering all aspects of Teays Valley High School athletics. I'm excited to continue my TVHS coverage into 2025!
